I am willing to consider books in almost any speculative fiction genre: science fiction, fantasy, and horror all appeal. However, I prefer books that fall between genres rather than those that are typical exemplars of them, so something that’s hard to categorize is more likely to win me over than a standard-issue quest fantasy. I\'m also willing to look at SFnal comic books/graphic novels and plays. The only thing I really don\'t want to see are books with a standard romance or erotica trajectory, since past experience indicates that I’m not likely to fall for anything in those genres.

Within those boundaries, I tend to prefer prose that\'s more “literary” than “pop,” and always appreciate veins of weirdness, scariness, or dark humor. And I’m very interested in publishing authors with varied ethnic, social, and cultural backgrounds; LGBT and female authors; and works of feminist, queer, or sociopolitical interest.

That said, I know how few books fit all of these criteria at once, so I’m happy to take a look at any book that does a good job with any of them.

I strongly prefer electronic submissions. Regardless of what format you want to submit in, you should always query first.
'; document.write('
